Academic Leave

Discuss with Advisor → Approve → Register

  • When student is unable to take more than 5/6 of the class days due to illness, military service or other unavoidable reasons, Student should submit documents (request form of academic leave and evidential document) with approval of his/her advisor and department chair during the registration period or at the point of the event occurrence.
  • The period of academic leave cannot exceed two semesters consecutively. In total, three semesters for the master's program and four semesters for the doctoral program cannot be exceeded (However, Military service(obligation) period is not counted in the period of academic leave)
  • Required Documents
    - General leave: Temporary leave of absence request form, Temporary leave of absence request form
    - Military leave: Temporary leave of absence request form, notice of enlistment
    - Illness leave: Temporary leave of absence request form, Documents such as a medical certificate from the hospital,
      a confirmation of hospitalization (if applicable), and a treatment statement may be requested from the university.
